The new update 1.2.0 forThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis barely out, and a few gamers are already complaining that it fixed one of the most popular duplication tricks in the game: the frozen meat glitch. To create some of the craziestweapons of mass destruction inZelda, players need resources, and getting infinite Rupees from this bug was often considered a good way to do that.
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s frozen meat glitchwas a quick way to get rich by duplicating frozen meat, as implied by its name. In short, it works by giving the player an endless amount of Icy Gourmet Meat, which can then be sold for 40 Rupees. The glitch works by dropping meat on the ground, turning it into a weapon, and recombining Meat Clubs until they hit the structure limit of 21. Then, freeze the club in the snow, and it’ll drop endless frozen meat.

Now, the popular duplication glitch seems to be gone due to the new update, as gamers such as CrowdedBeans have shared that on Reddit. Thenew 1.2.0Zeldaupdateofficially only “improves the gameplay experience,” but it seems that Nintendo also took its time to iron out a few of these popular glitches, too.
Overall, the reception to the changes was fairly negative, and someZelda: Tears of the Kingdomgamers also commented that a duplication glitch based in Tobio’s Hollow Chasm may be gone, too. The most common way to deal with the issue is that most players are simply not updating their games anymore. Dogman15, for instance, affirmed that they turned off any automatic updates on their Switch a few days ago, which could be a way to avoid losing access to the profitable glitch, but has the downside of also locking out the players from other changes that may affect their experience more positively.
However, when one glitch is patched, others remain. Recently, a player discovered anotherglitch that could giveZeldaplayers an endless supply of itemsby visiting West Necluda Sky Archipelago in which a device dispenser keeps producing endless Zonai capsules. Unfortunately for most players who like to exploit these failures in the system, Nintendo seems to be keen on fixing them all, and there’s no way to tell for how long they will continue to have access to this one, as it may also be fixed in a future patch.
