Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomplayer MarieTherese11 was confused after discovering two Hylian Shields were available in Link’s inventory. According to MarieTherese11, the duplicate Hylian Shield was discovered shortly aftertrading Korok Seeds with Hestuand upgrading Link’s shield inventory slots. MarieTherese11 also proceeded to equip the Froggy Armor and sorted their shields in the inventory menu, but the player notes they’ve never used a duplication glitch before. After this discovery was made, fellow players in theZeldacommunity began to speculate about other glitches that may have not been discovered yet inZelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

MarieTherese11 confirms the glitch was found while runningZelda: Tears of the Kingdomon version 1.1.2 instead of the most recent update, version 1.2.0. Nintendo releasedZelda: Tears of the Kingdomversion 1.1.2on May 25 to fix various bugs and glitches found shortly after launch, but many duplication bugs still work within versions 1.1.2 and 1.2.0. Some players, including Reddit user Moblin_Chef, encourage fans still playing on version 1.1.2 to find a glitch that successfully duplicates the Hylian Shield.

Under normal circumstances, Link is only allowed to carry one Hylian Shield at a time, so the discovery of a duplication glitch involving the use of multiple Hylian Shields could make waves within theZeldacommunity. However, the glitch’s use could be limited to version 1.1.2, soZelda: Tears of the Kingdomplayers might not be able to use it with the current version.

NewZelda: Tears of the KingdomDLChas not been announced, and version 1.2.0 remains the latest update for the game. If Nintendo intends to develop DLC forZelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the developers will most likely introduce more updates that could fix any remaining bugs and exploits. The community is persistent in finding new duplication glitches, so more discoveries may be made before Nintendo manages to find and fix it.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis available now for Nintendo Switch.
