Square Enix has recently announced that its mobile titleWar of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exviushas a new partnership with TikTok star Addison Rae. The collaboration will have a staggered release of new in-game content which includes special Vision cards and an actualWar of the Visionsunit of one of the biggest stars onsocial media platform TikTok.This is not the first time thatWar of the Visionshas brought real-life celebrities into the mobile game. In previous collaborations, special content was produced for popular musicians like Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, and Sia that was implemented into the title. A special microsite was also created to mark the partnership, updating the playerbase about the upcoming content. This includes two collaboration Vision cards and a custom in-game character likely based on the likeness ofTikTok star Addison Rae. According to the site, the first Vision card will be released on July 28, 2025 (PST). The second Vision card will be released Winter 2022 and the character unit is slated for launch in 2023.
Fan replies on the Twitter announcement seemed to lean towards disappointment about the collaboration choice, with some stating that they would have preferred ifWar of the Visionspartnered with a content creator that actually played the game. Some replies indicated that they were not familiar with Addison Rae, even if she has one of thebiggest followings on TikTok. Others commented that they just wantedWar of the Visionsto bring back the collaborations with other video games, just so they can max out their units and Vision cards.
Nevertheless, it seems Addison Rae herself is happy about her partnership withWar of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. According to the website, she has “been a fan of the franchise for such a long time” and is “honored to finally collaborate withSquare Enixin an official capacity.” However, only time will tell if Square Enix’s decision to work with the TikTok star will pay off. The company was likely looking to utilize her massive following to bring more players into the title. Hopefully the collaboration works out, and the game sees an increase in active players soon.
