Summary

Marvel Studios' Vision TV series,Vision Quest, is seemingly changing while theMCU’s Agatha Harkness spinoff’s new title looks official.

The writers' strike went on for nearly 150 days, and during that time, movies and shows that were still working on a script had to halt production. This severely hurts companies like Marvel Studios, which have a long list ofMCUprojects that need to be released in a particular order and rewritten constantly to avoid contradicting each other. Marvel Studios delayed multiple projects, includingAvengers: The Kang DynastyandSecret Wars.

Scarlet Witch UpdatesrevealedVision Questcreator Jac Schaeffer has removed the project from their WGA profile. Other writers on the project have also removed it from their WGA profile. It is unclear whether this means that the series will get new writers or if it is being shelved. It wouldn’t be surprising if the series is canceled, as Disney CEO Bob Iger recently discussed putting less Marvel content on Disney Plus because it is “diluting focus.”

Additionally, Scarlet Witch Updates pointed out that the same profiles have changed the name of the upcoming seriesAgatha: Coven of ChaostoAgatha: Darkhold Diaries.Vision QuestandAgatha: Darkhold Diariesare spin-offs/sequel series to the first Disney Plus Marvel series,WandaVision.WandaVisionpremiered in January of 2021, andAgatha: Darkhold Diarieswon’t be released until 2024, whileVision Quest’s release looks questionable.

It was probably a good decision for Disney to shelveVision Quest, even though it may upset some fans. Films likeThe Marvelshave too many projects that fans need to watchto the point it feels like homework to understand what is going on. Additionally, it has felt like Marvel Studios has taken the quantity over quality approach with their recent projects, withAnt-man: QuantumaniaandSecret Invasionbeing some of the most poorly received MCU projects.

Sadly, fans who want to see some more screen time for their favorite characters or comic book stories won’t get them if Marvel Studios decides to shelve upcoming projects likeVision Quest. Hopefully,Marvel can find a balanceto give fans the movies and shows they want to see in the quality they deserve.

Agatha: Darkhold Diariesis expected to premiere on Disney Plus in late 2024.
