The Evil Empire studio helped Twin Motion developDead Cellsfor many years. The director of the newPrince of Persia, Lucie Dewagnier, commented thatDead Cellshelped shapeThe Rogue Prince of Persia’sgameplay, as well as in the decision to release the game in Early Access. However, Dewagnier comments that the biggest challenge was to makeThe Rogue Prince of Persiahave a similar game feel toDead Cellsbut still be an entirely new game. For this, they focused on both the identity and settings of the IP and on traversal elements and movement, giving a sense of familiarity to the 2D roguelike but with a new twist. Dewagnier is optimistic that the Early Access will help shapeThe Rogue Prince of Persiato the best of its ability and deliver a stellar game to every player.
