The Division 2’s highly anticipated Title Update 2, which featuresWorld Tier 5, the Tidal Basin Stronghold, and more, now has a release date. Massive Entertainment hosted a State of the Game livestream Wednesday morning in which it was confirmed that Invasion, also known as Title Update 2, will arrive on April 5. With a Friday release, Massive hopes to giveThe Division 2players the opportunity to play the next content update starting on the first weekend of April.
With the patch’s release, players currently in World Tier 4 with the appropriate gear score (425) will be able to immediately start the tier’s final story mission and delve into the Tidal Basin Stronghold. After its completion World Tier 5 will open, unlocking 450-500 gear score items, a new heroic difficulty (no checkpoints), and weekly Invaded missions will be available for players. This is thetrue endgame forThe Division 2at launch.
One of the biggest additions with World Tier 5 andThe Division 2’s endgame will be the introduction of the game’s first three gear sets, True Patriot, Ongoing Directive, and Hard Wired. According to Massive Entertainment,The Division 2gear sets will be available from Strongholds and Invaded Missions.
World Tier 5 will also introduceThe Division 2’s final story beats, at least before the firstpost-launch Episodesstart to release. Massive is remaining quiet about these story beats, however, so players will have to discover the story on their own.
In addition to the April 5 release of Title Update 2, Massive is also going to release a patch forThe Division 2tomorrow, March 28. Patch 1.7 includes several fixes to some lingering issues. For example, it will clear up remaining issues with skills not deploying correctly, scaling issues for co-op players, menu issues when marking mods as junk, and push-to-talk being enabled by default. Patch 1.7 will also improveThe Division 2’s stability problems and frame rate drops.
The final chapter ofThe Division 2’s launch campaign and the true endgame arrives April 5. That should be just enough time to pick up a few moreHunter Masks.
