The Division 2’sopen betastarts this upcoming Friday, running from March 1 through March 4, and Massive Entertainment plans to offer a wide variety of content for players to experience during the trial period. Today,The Division 2’s open beta content plans were shared for the first time, confirming the availability of certain story missions, open world features, PvP content, and endgame gameplay.
In the open beta, players will have access to three main campaign missions and five side missions to discover in the open world. Both the Dark Zone and Conflict PvP modes will be available to try, and a single endgame Invaded Mission with three endgame specializations will be available. Those who participated inThe Division 2’sPrivate Betawill see that the open beta features largely the same amount of content. However, the open beta does feature one additional main mission.

In addition to the new story mission inThe Division 2’s open beta, Massive is also adding two additionalcosmetic rewardsthat will carry over to launch. As introduced in the private beta, simply participating in either the Private or open beta will reward the DC Patriot Weapon Skin. Completing the endgame Invaded Mission will reward the Capitol Hill Arm Patch, which could also have been earned during the Private Beta.
EarningThe Division 2’s two new cosmetics should be a pretty straightforward process. The Supply Crate Backpack Trophy is rewarded for completing the Dark Zone East introductory mission, which may or may not actually involve PvP. The Capitol Hill Backpack Trophy is earned just by participating in the open beta. It’s a smart way to award participation and also stress testthe game’s servers at the same time.
It’s also worth noting that in the Private Beta, players had to complete the campaign missions, specifically the Jefferson Trade Center mission, before being able to access theendgame content. It’s likely that this will be the case again in the open beta, so those interested inThe Division 2’s endgame need to be willing to play through the brief introductory story missions first.
The Division 2open beta starts March 1 at 1:00 am PT, but players can begin preloading on February 28 at 1:00 am PT. This will be the last chance for prospective players to try the game before launch.
The Division 2releases Jun 18, 2025 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
