A newTekken 7mod has just surfaced which allows several WWE Superstars to be used as in-game fighters. AsTekken 7has been around since 2015, fans of the famed fighting game have been cleverly finding ways to keep the game fresh. One of its biggest fans is WWE Superstar Xavier Woods who constantly features the game on his YouTube channel UpUpDownDown.
Since starting UpUpDownDown, Woods has become somewhat of a gaming ambassador in the scene. He regularly includes otherWWE Superstars such Alexa Bliss and Liv Morganas well as his stablemates from The New Day whenever he creates new content for the channel. As such, competitions between the Superstars are frequent, withTekken 7being a stable fixture when the crew wants to compete against each other.

Recently on UpUpDownDown, Woods playedTekken 7with other superstars but pulled out a surprise when he revealed that someone had released a mod to add them to the game. Woods and teammate Kofi Kingston had unveiled their modded characters in a previous episode. However, the two took it a step further by inviting Ricochet, Mansoor, and The Usos then allowing the others to use their own character models as well. TheWWE Superstars have officially appeared in other non-wrestling games, but this unofficial mod shows how they also fit in fighting games such asTekken.
The 3D models were taken from theirWWE 2K22appearance, so their attires are based on that game. In the mod, Xavier Woods replaced King, while Kofi Kingston took Bryan Fury’s place. Meanwhile, Ricochet, Mansoor, and The Usos used Marshall Law, Shaheen, Dragunov, and Leroy, respectively. The characters they replaced utilize someWWE wrestling movesso they don’t look too lost in the action.
Fans of theWWE 2Kfranchise often add characters from other gamesto play with, so it is quite refreshing to see it play the other way around. With King, Armor King, and Marduk already having wrestling backgrounds, it isn’t far-fetched to have WWE be a part of the action. In fact,Tekken 7already had a previous collaboration with New Japan Pro Wrestling making the Tekken and wrestling connection even stronger.
WithTekken 8already being teased for the future, perhaps the franchise could consider opening its doors to the WWE for a branding partnership. WWE (and Xavier Woods) could provide a deal similar to the NJPW one and all parties would benefit. Besides,Tekken 7and Bandai Namco aren’t strangers to branded partnerships and guest characters in their games, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see the giants team-up.
