Risk of Rain2, Hopoo Games' new multiplayer roguelike shooter on Steam Early Access, is filled with mysteries for players to unravel. This includesRisk of Rain 2’s gold orb, which gives intrepid players access to a powerful boss, but there are others as well. One is the rare Shrine of Order, and those that have encountered it before may be confused about its function.

What DoesRisk of Rain 2’s Shrine of Order Do

Risk of Rain 2’sShrine of Order is a strange white structure made of broken concentric rings. When approached or selected, players will see a designation that it is indeed a Shrine of Order.

The look of the Shrine of Order is not the only mysterious aspect of it though, as using it has quite a bizarre effect. Specifically, interacting with a Shrine of Order changes all of the items a player is currently carrying into something different. Reports suggest that the items a player receives from the Shrine are typically of the common variety.

As such, interacting with a Shrine of Order can be a dangerous proposition. Indeed, players that have carefully acquired powerfulRisk of Rain 2items during a run may look on in horror as they see all of their work lost to a Shrine.

On the flip side, players that are unhappy with their holdings can gamble on the Shrine of Order, using it to see if they can improve the items that they have in their possession. That said, the Shrine is a seemingly rare spawn, to be found randomly as players work on activities likegettingRisk of Rain 2’s Lunar Coins, so employing this strategy is not something that can be done with much consistency.

It has also been noted that a Shrine of Order will often grant a great deal of a single item type. Players that use the Shrine should thus expect to receive only a handful of different item types from it.

While there may be further practical applications for the Shrine of Order, it currently seems like a simple opportunity for players to add further complications to a run. This may not be desirable for those that are still working towardsRisk of Rain 2character unlocks, but others are certain to find ways to have fun with it.
