Themobile versions of bothResident Evilgames were announced by Applein mid-September as part of the tech giant’s product showcase that saw it officially unveil the 2023 iPhone series.Resident Evil Villagethen reached the App Store as a free app, allowing users to try out its demo section before deciding whether to shell out $15.99 for the full game and $9.99 for its DLC.

Since theResident Evil 4remake was also treated to a well-received Chainsaw Demo on both PC and consoles, it’s likely that the game’s iOS version will use the same release model. Capcom confirmed that the mobile version of the $9.99 Separate Ways DLC will launch along with the base game on December 20. In the meantime, Apple users can alreadypre-order theResident Evil 4remake via the App Store. The (full) iOS version of the survival horror will retail at $59.99, same as its PC and PS4 counterparts.

TheResident Evil 4remake will be available on theA17 Pro-powered iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, as well as all devices utilizing Apple’s M-series chips: the M1, M2, and M3. In that respect, this upcoming port is going to be identical to the mobile version ofResident Evil Village. Since Apple’s recent silicon is shared between its high-end tablet, notebook, and desktop lineups, the latest mainlineResident Evilgame will also be available on a number of Mac, MacBook, and iMac models.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Supported Apple Devices List

Capcom confirmed thatResident Evil 4will take advantage of MetalFX, a resolution upscaling solution that’s essentially Apple’s proprietary alternative to Nvidia’s DLSS. The game will require 19.3GB of storage space on iOS devices, thus being roughly 75% more compressed compared to its PC counterpart, as per its App Store listing. Physical controller support will also be part of the package, as was the case with the mobile version ofResident Evil Village.

Resident Evil 4won’t be the last AAA game to hit the App Store in the near future; aniOS version ofAssassin’s Creed Mirageis also in the works, with Ubisoft planning to release it in early 2024. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPad ports ofDeath Stranding: Director’s Cutare scheduled to launch on December 2.
