Red Dead Redemption 2has dozens of different options for players looking to customize their character’s appearance. At the world’s trading posts and general stores, players can purchase individual items like hats, coats, and pants, or even entire themed outfits. On top of these options, however, there are a bunch of unique items thatRed Dead Redemption 2players can come across in their playthrough.
One of the more challenging of these to find in the game is the Miner’s Hat. This particular item is trapped behind a wall in an abandoned mine, and those players looking to grab it can use this guide for help.

Where to find the Miner’s Hat
Those players searching for the Miner’s Hat need to head towards the northern part of West Elizabeth, to an area known as Big Valley. The nearest fast travel location is one of themore memorable towns inRed Dead Redemption 2, Strawberry. From here, players need to head towards the north and into the mountain passes while on the lookout for the entrance to a mine.
This mine entrance is just north of the “Beryl’s Dream” marker on the map and at the end of the dash line nearby. It rests in a small valley in this mountainous area and has a wide entrance with a rock overhang. This is the home of the Miner’s Hat but getting to this item requires players to be observant.
How to get to the Miner’s Hat
At first glance, the mine has completely collapsed, and players cannot get deeper than a few dozen yards. Unfortunately, the dynamite that is so effectiveat opening safes inRed Dead Redemption 2is useless here. To gain access to the Miner’s Hat, players need to locate the detonator on the left side of the mine and near the entrance. Activating this will blow a hole through the collapse and give players access to where the hat is located.
Crouch through the new entrance and walk into the main room. From here, head to the right into a side cavity. By this point, players will see a weapon indicator on their mini map and can head right towards that to locate the hat. Inside this smaller area is a dead body with a knife stuck in its back, one of thenumerous mysteries inRed Dead Redemption 2. Right by this body is the Miner’s Hat, and just picking it up will give players this interesting item, and it should automatically light up once it is worn.
