ARed Dead Onlineplayer has managed to win a 1v1 duel against another player in perhaps the strangest way imaginable. Gamers can test themselves against other cowboys inRed Dead Online, and it seems that some players are more aware of their surroundings than others.

The nature ofRed Dead Onlinemeans that not every player in the game will always be friendly, so often gamers have to be able to fight their way out of a tough spot to survive in the Wild West. While someRed Dead Onlineplayers have some heartwarming interactionsin-game, that certainly isn’t always the case. Players can enjoy a more peaceful experience by turning on Passive Mode, but that almost defeats the point of playing online. While it can be frustrating to deal with griefers, getting one over them is half of the fun.

The clip was posted to Reddit by user That1GuyNamedMatt, who is engaged in combat with another player on the top of the mountain. The other player dodges Matt’s attacks, diving sideways each time. However, they eventually misjudge their jump, diving over the side of the cliff to their death. It’s certainly not the way Matt was expecting to win the fight, as he looks on at the falling corpse, bemused. Last year, someRed Dead Onlineplayers participated in a leap of trust exercise. Well, this particular leap of trust was a jump too far, and resulted in one of the more bizarreRed Dead Onlinedeaths in a long time.

Gamers in the thread agreed that they simply wouldn’t be able to face the embarrassment of the situation, and would instead log off immediately. WhileRed Dead Onlinegriefersmight make more of the situation in the game’s chat, there are plenty of players who would simply laugh this one off as a funny memory. This situation must have felt particularly sweet for Matt - according to him, this fight started all the way back in Valentine before its dramatic mountaintop conclusion.

With majorsupport forRed Dead Onlinealready stopped by Rockstar, the game’s legacy is continued by its dedicated community. It remains the best way for gamers to explore an open-world version of the Wild West, meaning that it should retain a player base for some time to come. On PC, it even has third-party roleplay servers such as WildRP which can immerse gamers in the experience even further, although that certainly won’t be for everyone. WithRed Dead Redemption 3and its online equivalent still years away, hopefully Rockstar reconsiders its decision to move all resources away from the title, although at this point it’s highly unlikely.

Red Dead Onlineis currently available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
