With the 2020 Six Invitational coming up soon, players ofthe addictive Tactical FPS,Rainbow Six: Siege, are excitedly waiting to hear news of the new content that is coming to the game throughout Year 5. Much like in the past, leakers were able to find pieces of code that relate to some new features and character reworks that are planned.
Reputable leaker Kormora, who has leaked details from previous seasons that turned out to be true such as details for Operation Ember Rise, put out some information from sources that relates to Year 5 content inRainbow Six: Siege. These features include a new replay system, map banning, and the long-awaited Tachanka rework.

Starting with map banning, Kormora states that the map ban system is likely to be similar to operator bans in ranked and unranked games. Players will hypothetically see a full list of all the maps that are in the rotation as they ban and pick the maps that they wish to play on. Perhaps each team will get a ban and from there, the maps that are left unbanned will be chosen randomly so players can’t straight out pick a map they wish to play on.
Speaking of maps, the way that maps flow inSiege,as well as the waySiegeis played, does not allow for a specific operator to flourish. This operator would be Tachanka, who if the leaks are true, will get a full rework. According to the leaks, his mounted LMG will now become his primary weapon and he will have some sort of incendiary item that isn’t clear of its purpose yet. Tachanka has always been on thebottom of the barrelwhen it comes to operators, so this rework is well-deserved for him in particular.
It is a long time since the Ubisoft team has done anything to Tachanka in terms of nerfs or buffs so hopefully, this leak is accurate and Tachanka will be in abetter place for team viability. Moving on to the next leak, it seems thatRainbow Six: Siegewill now have some sort of replay system.
Replays have been a missing feature inSiegewith no real-time estimate of when they would appear or even if they would appear. Adding replays to the game would add an extra layer of depth to understandingSiegefor players of all skill levels as they can see any strategy an enemy used and use this information toimprove at the game. Although this is all leaked information, Kormora is fairly accurate when it comes to leaks as apparent by the leaked information that was provided in previous seasons.
Rainbow Six Siegeis out now PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
