A new season forCall of Duty: Warzonerecently went live, bringing lots of new content. From the brand new Caldera map to World War 2 weapons fromCall of Duty: Vanguard, the update gave many fans of the battle royale a reason to get excited. Unfortunately, this initial hype has not continued following release, as it appears that not everyone is happy with the changes.

Recently, pro player and streamer Aydan Conrad revealed that he was frustrated with the new season ofWarzone. While he had expressed his excitement to dive into the new map for the battle royale, his enthusiasm quickly dissipated. “Not a fan of the Caldera map so far,” he said. Sadly, he believed the only positive that thenew map had over Verdanskwas that it looked visually appealing.

Besides revealing his displeasure with the map, he gave his reasoning behind the opinion. According to Aydan, the terrain on the new map was problematic. He explained that the average gameplay seemed to consist of “running up hills and rocks” only to encounter people already waiting at the top. Apparently, the streamer had met an untimely death far too many times in situations like these. He suggested that if things failed to improve, he might consider quittingCall of Duty: Warzone. “I don’t care about being at the top if I’m not having fun,” he said.

Fortunately for those not wanting to see the popular streamer move on to a different game, Aydan acknowledged that he needed to giveWarzoneanother shot. He said he needed more time to formulate his full opinion of the new season. In addition, he noted that he had been feeling under the weather recently, admitting that could have contributed to his negative first impression of the Caldera map. However, if he remained unhappy playing the game, he would move on. He even hinted at returning toFortniteto check out new content added in Chapter 3.

Aydan isn’t the only high-profile streamer dissatisfied with the newWarzoneupdate. Recently, the outspokenDr Disrespect checked out the Caldera mapand, like Aydan, disliked the experience. Among the Doc’s negative comments, he complained about audio issues and the return of Dead Silence. “Boring,” he said, summing up his time playing the game.

It will be interesting to see if Aydan’s opinion of the Caldera map changes once he gives the game another try. Regardless, these initial comments from top streamers are somewhat concerning for thedevelopers at Raven Software. Time will tell if reception to the new map changes or if frustrated players migrate to other battle royales in the coming days.
