Niantic begins testing a new Team Up feature throughPokemon GO’s Campfire feature, aiming to help players have an easier time connecting to others to take on raids.Pokemon GOremains incredibly popular for many around the world, allowing them to capture roaming Pokemon in their area, while also engaging with numerous AR elements like spinning Photo Disks for in game items, claiming Gyms for theirGOteam, and taking part in raids to collect powerful Pokemon defending them.

However, there are those who have a tough time coordinating connections for raiding, something that typically requires a certain group. Originally developed as Niantic’s own social media platform for each of its games,Campfire is available to somePokemon GOplayersat the moment, allowing trainers new ways to not only communicate with other players, but to organize events which include raids. Thankfully, it appears that Niantic is continuing its efforts to make connecting for raids more accessible with a new feature that is currently under testing.

The newest feature being tested in Campfire forPokemon GOis called Team Up, something that appears to be available only for a limited time. An invitation was posted to TheSilphRoad subReddit by a user named Smarioh, giving fans a better look at what this feature aims to do. Essentially, through Team Up,Pokemon GOplayers can host or join Raid Battleswith other trainers in the community or around the world. Players with access can select a blue “Find a Raid” button to open the menu from Campfire or select the green map icon in Pokemon GO to be taken to the feature.

While this news may sound exciting for thosePokemon GOplayers who don’t have easy access to raids, there is a big catch as Team Up is currently invite only and isn’t wildly available as of yet. The limited time test also comes to a close on July 15, 2025, though if everything goes smoothly, this feature could likely be implemented sooner rather than later, replacing third party solutions like Pokegenie. Either way, players will want to keep an eye on their inbox for a potential invite before the test concludes.

Alongside the Team Up limited test, allPokemon GOplayers can take part in the Let’s GO event. Players will have a new set of challenges to work through, many of which involve general gameplay like capturing and transferring Pokemon, as well as making specific types of throws, as well as powering up Pokemon. A new collection challenge also makes the three elemental monkeys Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour available for all, after being regionally locked for a long period of time.

Pokemon GOis available now for mobile devices as a free download.
