Summary
APokemonfan is quickly gaining attention online after posting an image of a tattoo of Ditto seemingly partially transformed into Pikachu. The nightmare-ish permanent creation, which the original poster themselves describes as “horrifying,” is mesmerizing more than a few fellowPokemonenthusiasts.
Around since thePokemon’s very first generation, Ditto is a light purple or pink blob known for its beady eyes and its ability to breed with just about any other Pokemon in the franchise. An amorphous blob of a creature, Ditto is also known for its ability to transform into any other Pokemon, which it normally does when trainers find them in the wild. However, as onePokemon Scarlet and Violetplayer found out,Ditto can sometimes transform into itself.

The creepy Ditto tattoo was recently posted to forum website Reddit, where user Heavy-Chef-997 took to one of the site’s mainPokemonpages to show off the unsettling ink. The bottom half of the artwork is of the back end of Pikachu, appearing mostly normal with the exception of the goopy strands pulling down its tail. The real nightmare fuel comes in at the top, where a gelatinous amalgamation of Ditto giving a half-baked Pikachu impression is delighting viewers with its drooping features, creating something as cute as it is disturbing.
Interestingly, the original poster states the tattoo was done by her husband, and likely done on someone else entirely, given the text included in the post. The horrifying tattoo is clearly popular amongPokemonfans on the site, with the image garnering over 200 upvotes within just a couple of hours of being posted. Combining Ditto’s gelatinous design motif with most any other Pokemon usually has some nightmare-worthy results, including one fan who madefusion art combining Ditto with Steelix, resulting in something just plain scary.
Pokemon Fans' Diverse Dittos
While fan art of combining Ditto with other Pokemon tends to be creepy, not all fan-made creations featuring the character are actually horror-tinged. AnotherPokemonfan created an acrylic painting of Dittolooking at himself in a mirror with the words “Who Am I” repeating across the background, playing off Ditto constantly changing its appearance.
While the recipient of the tattoo may have gottenone of the most popular video game tattoosof all time - at least partially - the spin of the Pikachu being a Ditto and overall art style certainly make it stand out from the massive crowd ofPokemontattoos.
