The developer Bluehole Studio and its parent company PUBG Corp. recently revealed toPlayerUnknown’s Battlegroundsfans that it is"considering" region locking serversin the popular Battle Royale title in a bid to provide a “stable network experience” for those all who play the game. In a further bit of refinement to the title, the companies have also revealed that a fresh update is set to include an all-new weapon skins system so that players can customize their favorite firearms.
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds' new weapon skins are going to be unlocked by way of the game’s latest loot boxes called Triumph Crates and Raider Crates, with these boxes only containing weapon skins and no other traditional player cosmetics. The former is a random, weekly crate that can only be opened with real-money keys, while the latter is a type of non-random loot box that doesn’t require a key to unlock.

The weapon skins that fans unlock inPlayerUnknown’s Battlegroundscan be equipped through the the title’s new weapon skin inventory in the customization section, which can be seen in the image directly above. While out in the field, guns will still look like their normal iterations until a player with a skin for that weapon picks it up, and once a gun is grabbed that one has a skin for, it will then be permanently marked with that look. This means that anyone who kills a player can then pick up their gun and use the weapon with the skin that was already attached.
All things considered, this weapon skin feature will be going live onPlayerUnknown’s Battlegroundstest server today, and will then later be applied with the game’s next patch, which should pleasePUBGfans around the world, as it will eventually give them yet another way for their characters to stand out in the field. With much-requested features such as this, as well asa new island mapon the way, there’s no doubt thatPUBGplayers have a lot to look forward to as the game continues to evolve in 2018.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegroundsis out now for Android and iOS devices, PC, and is in early access for Xbox One.
