Pikmin 3 Deluxewill offer players a variety of Pikmin to use to help them on their travels. Each of these little guys has their own set of stats and abilities that make them useful in different circumstances, but they must first be unlocked. Of all the Pikmin, theBlue Pikmin is the last to be unlocked in every game.
WithPikmin 3 Deluxereleasing on October 30th, many players are preparing to dive back into the bizarre world. As the name would suggest, the titular Pikmin are vital to the player’s success throughout the story, so it’s important to know where to find them all.

Unfortunately for theBlue Pikmin, it is widely considered the worst oneof all. It’s stats are balanced across the board, but another Pikmin type will always perform better at its strong suit. The one place where Blue Pikmin can come in handy is when in water, as these aquatic allies can swim in schools to overpower certain seaborne enemies.
In order to unlock the Blue Pikmin, players simply need to progress the story until their second visit to the Garden of Hope. This is one of the first areas players will encounter in the game, but half of the level is blocked off initially. Towards the end of the story, Louie will crash land the ship back on theGarden of Hopeand blow open a path to the other half of the level. Players need to explore this area in search of the Blue Onion.
First, players need to head through the newly opened path created by Louie and approach the fork in the road. Staying right will lead the player to a shallow body of water, here the Blue Onion can be found. After reaching the Blue Onion, players need touse the Winged Pikmin to pull it out of the ground. This might take a little while, but eventually the onion will be uprooted from the ground. After a short animation, Blue Pikmin will begin to fall out of the onion and join the player’s group.
As stated before, odds are players won’t get much use out of these Blue Pikmin, but they do come in handy in very specific situations. Continuing on in this level will bring players toPikmin 3 Deluxe’s penultimate boss battleagainst the Quaggled Mireclops. This boss is particularly challenging, so players should be sure to prepare adequately.
