It seems thatOutridersand the development team behind the game, People Can Fly, are still working out some of the kinks with the co-op third-person RPG. Players onPC reported performance issues withOutridersfollowing the game’s release yesterday, with many citing sudden framerate drops and stuttering despite having met the PC requirements.
Now, it seems there is another big issue withOutriderson just the second day of the game’s full release. It appears that theOutridersservers are down and are affecting players across all platforms, but the officialOutridersTwitter account has said the development team is actively looking into the issue.

The Twitter account has posted various updates regularly, stressing that the team has been working “around the clock” to fix the server issues as soon as possible. Additionally,the team issued an apology statementto those frustrated that the servers have been down for longer than anticipated. As of the time of writing, theOutridersservers have been down for at least three hours now. Naturally, this is causing a lot of ire among the game’s burgeoning player base, many of whom were looking into diving in to the game this coming weekend.
Apparently, theseserver issues are quite severe, as the development team is taking some big steps to get them back online. According to theOutridersTwitter account, the team is going to shut down and restart the entire server infrastructure. This should allow the team to “rebuild and recover” the server infrastructure to bring it back to a “healthy and stable state.” With any luck, this turns out to be the proper solution, as this will undoubtedly cause a lot of negative feedback towards the game.
While server issues are quite common among many multiplayer titles today, many of these instances of servers issues are luckily resolved within the hour of report. A recent case of a similar situation involved theAmong Usteam investigating server outagesin early March. Thousands of players were not able to log into the game, but, despite the small size of the development team at InnerSloth, the server issues were resolved within the hour. While server issues are not one-to-one across the industry, it is worrying thatOutriders' server issues seem to be quite intense.
It’s certainly a shame thatOutridersis experiencing such a frustrating issue this early on in its life cycle. Considering it was one of themost anticipated titles of early 2021, it will surely result in some players passing on the game for a bit. There’s no telling just how long it will take for the server infrastructure to fully reboot after the team shuts it down. Hopefully, players looking forward to jumping intoOutridersthis weekend won’t have to wait too much longer to play the game.
