Summary
One Piecehas recently shed quite a lot of light on the history of the world, and a lot of it is pertaining to the God Valley as well. This island was first introduced to the fans during the Wano arc and it was made very clear to the fans that it would be important in the story later on. Although fans wanted this part of the story to be explored earlier, now, they realize that Oda had a completely different plan in mind and it is safe to say that it is a fabulous one.
In the Egghead arc, Oda finally revealed the first proper flashback of God Valley and it is also tied directly to the Celestial Dragons who were revealed to be holding slave-hunting games on various islands.
The Hunting Games Of The Celestial Dragons
As revealed inOne Piecechapter 1095, every 3 years, the Celestial Dragons start hunting games where they annex an island and then decide to cleanse it of the people living on it using a game to hunt them down. The one who hunts down the most of them gets crowned the champion and the races that are killed get exterminated. This just goes to show how truly evil the Celestial Dragons who sit at the top of the world are, and the fact that they consider all those who don’t share their blood to be inferior beings.
These hunting games are quite dangerous and it can be assumed that, over the course of history, they have eradicated quite a lot of races from the world entirely. This can also explain why there are so many races in theOne Pieceworld with only a few survivors left. For instance, those who were once calledthe gods of the world, the Lunarian race, are completely extinct, with King being the very last survivor. One can assume that they met a similar fate and, inOne Piecechapter 1095, many other races were revealed to be involved in this hunting game as well. One important character who was focused on quite a lot over the course ofOne Piecechapter 1095 was certainly Kuma. Fans know him to be a very important character, especially in the Final Saga and, from here onwards, he will continue to play a very important role in the story.
The Hunting Games On God Valley
Around 38 years ago, the hunting game started by the Celestial Dragons was about to be held in God Valley. This island had its own King and its own people, and the reason why it was called God Valley was revealed to the fans as well. Simply put, God Valley had nothing to do with the celestial dragons, at least at first. This island was unaffiliated with the World Government and its natural riches were so great that it was given the name God Valley. This island was made a hunting ground for the Celestial Dragons to play their dirty games on and when the King tried to object, he was killed immediately and the games were to proceed as planned.
In God Valley, quite a lot of Celestial Dragons were present, the vast majority of which fans know to be extremely weak. However, two characters that were present in God Valley on that day were Saint Garling Figarland and also Saint Saturn. Fans know these two characters to be incredibly powerful.Saturn has displayed his abilitiesrecently inOne Pieceand, at the same time, Saint Garling showcased a bit of his power in the previous chapter, revealing himself to be an extraordinarily strong person. In the hunting games conducted 38 years ago, Kuma was also a slave who was to be involved, given that he was from the special Buccaneer race.
Champion Of God Valley
As seen in One Piece chapter 1095, the champion of God Valley also made an appearance and this character wasnone other than Saint Garling.Fans know Saint Garling to be an important character who has ties to Shanks. When the Celestial Dragons arrived in God Valley and decided to start their games, the King objected and the person who killed the King was none other than Garling himself. For killing the king, he was given a penalty and he had to start from negative points.
However, he was so confident in his ability that he believed that he would still end up winning the competition with ease. Merely by looking at him, it was clear that Saint Garling was the favorite, and given that he is called the Champion of God Valley, fans can rest assured that he was the one who ended up winning this competition.
It will be interesting to see how these hunting games on God Valley proceed as the flashback continues. Fans will also be interested in seeing how Shanks was taken in by the Roger Pirates and what kind of connection he truly has with Garling. The war with the Rocks Pirates is also something that will definitely capture the attention of the fans when it is finally shown.
Kuma And The Buccaneer Race
At the end of it all, the most important part of the slave-hunting games on Egghead Islandis the story of Kuma.Kuma, as revealed in the previous chapter, was taken as a slave immediately upon birth. This was because information about his blood was somehow leaked and found its way to the World Government. They then proceeded to enslave the last remnants of the Buccaneer race and both his parents ended up dying. The Buccaneer race was sought after because they had the blood of the giants and were incredibly powerful. This was despite their size being far smaller than that of the giants. The Buccaneer race was a powerful group and, once in the past, they committed some sort of crime against the World Government. For that, Kuma and his family had to pay a big price.
Kuma was a slave for a long time, and he was also taken to God Valley to be made a pawn in the sick game of the Celestial Dragons. As revealed in the chapter, however, Kuma managed to escape, only to be captured by other slaves, who feared for their own safety if he did escape. They attempted to bring him back to the Celestial Dragons, however, they were stopped by two other slaves, these being Emporio Ivankov and a slave named Jinny.
Fans found out that both of these characters were also former slaves and it is quite clear that they end up forming a team with Kuma. It will be extremely interesting for the fans to see how they managed to escape and join up with Dragon and what ends up happening to them from here onwards. Fans absolutely cannot wait to see this flashback continue. Sadly, there is a break to be dealt with but fans can rest assured that the flashback of God Valley will continue in the next few chapters ofOne Piece.
