There were many theories about this person’s identity, but due to the lack of evidence, none of them stood out. However,inOne Piecechapter 1061, Bonney confirmed that her target is the genius scientist, Dr. Vegapunk.
Bonney could be seen talking to Luffy, Jimbei, and Chopper about Egghead Island, which serves as Vegapunk’s base. It was at this time that Bonney made her intentions clear that she wanted to confront Dr. Vegapunk. It is unknown how or why Bonney detests Vegapunk, but it is plausible to assume that the scientist has been responsible for causing Bonney some kind of inconvenience in the past.
Connection To Bartholomew Kuma
Many prevalent theories point toward a possible connection between Jewelry Bonneyand Bartholomew Kuma. Why Is Bonney Being Hunted By The Marines?
In the past, Bonney has been seen running away from the World Government because of some unknown reasons. When Blackbeard captured Bonney and her crew, he tried to strike a deal with the Marines. He wanted to get a warship in exchange for Bonney, but his plans were foiled as Akainu turned up at their location. Upon meeting Boney, Akainu said that when he found out that she had fledfrom the World Government, he was disturbed. Of course, this doesn’t mean that Akainu was scared of her, instead, it implies that Bonney is important to the World Government.
During their interaction, Bonney said that she would never forgive the World Government, which indicates that they have hurt her or someone she was close to. Despite being captured by Bonney, she somehow managed to escape from the World Government, and they increased her bounty to 320,000,000 berries in the hope that someone would provide them with any information about her whereabouts.
