The summer months in 2022 took another turn for the game industry as the ESA once again announced that its traditionally annual Electronic Entertainment Expo would be canceled in full, with no digital show to replace it. As such, companies have been scheduling their own showcases to fill in the gap such asMicrosoft holding an Xbox-specific event back in June, Ubisoft planning anAssassin’s Creedevent in September, and Bungie revealing future content forDestiny 2this month.

While fans still wait for larger companies like Sony to announce its next first party State of Play,Nintendois forging ahead with its own plans. While the company has yet to announce anything close to a first party Nintendo Direct presentation, the Treehouse Live segment is finally coming back. Originally a major part of Nintendo’s E3 presence, this year’s version is getting its own live presentation on August 25 featuring two games and three segments.
