Mortal Kombat’s Friendshipsare a series of finishing moves that can be executed after a match, much like the series' classic Fatalities. Unlike Fatalities, they don’t brutalize opponents and instead promote “friendship.” A Reddit post on the r/MortalKombat subreddit showed off a good idea for Peacemaker’s Friendship, that being the dance that he executes in the intro of his self-titled TV series on HBO Max.
ThePeacemakerTV show had a very memorable opening credits sequence, where John Cena and several other members of the supporting cast would dance to “Do Ya Wanna Taste It” by Wig Wam.Peacemaker’s opening sequencehad many fans laughing, due to the hilarity of seeing the characters dancing with incredibly straight faces. As such, Peacemaker could do his dance moves with his opponents, maybe even with the same song playing if NetherRealm Studios wanted to pay tribute to the whole thing.
Other members of the subreddit jumped on-board with this idea, with many hoping this becomes Peacemaker’s Friendship inMortal Kombat 1. Many also suggested that Eagly, the male bald eagle that Peacemaker keeps as a pet, could be the antihero’s Animality, or that Peacemaker could even use some of John Cena’s wrestling moves as potential attacks inMortal Kombat 1. It should be noted that Peacemaker hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, so these ideas will need to wait until the character himself is officially in the game.
Mortal Kombat 1launches September 19 for PC, PS5, Switch, and Xbox Series X.
