Lokiis set to be the next great Marvel exclusive afterThe Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and although Disney Plus will take a small break from the MCU bymoving on toStar Wars: The Bad Batch, that’s no excuse to pass on the chance to continue building hype for the series with a brand new trailer.
WithLokibeing one of the MCU’s best villains and an absolute fan favorite, considering his tragic death inAvengers: Endgame, the show could represent the god of mischief’s swan song before Tom Hiddlestone finally moves on from the character. However, for some, there’s also some hope that the series' time travel and multiverse focused plot could lead to it somehow reviving Loki for future appearances in upcoming movies likeThor: Love and Thunder.

In the new trailer from Marvel Entertainment, it’s finally revealed that the god of mischief is due to pay his sentence imparted by the Time Variance Authority (TVA) by fixing the timeline disruptions he caused by taking the Tesseract inthatEndgamescene that’s in the first preview. From the looks of it, Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson) is pretty much up to speed with Loki’s usual ploys and schemes, proving to be quite the rival for Loki in terms of wit and snarkiness in what’s almost guaranteed the show’s most entertaining relationship.
Also making an appearance in the trailer is actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw who is playing a yet unknown TVA operative that seems equally comfortable with both office work and being out on the field. Finally, there are some glimpses at the many worldsLokicould be visiting in this outing, including one where he’s sitting next to someone who fans believed could be Black Widow, but that may actually turn out to be justone of many Lokis showing up throughout the series.
Kevin Feige recently claimed that there are two types of Phase Four MCU productions, those that directly deal with the aftermath fromEndgame’sBlip, likeWandaVisionandThe Falcon and the Winter Soldier; and then there at those happening in a completely removed settinglike the upcomingBlack Widow, which goes back quite a bit orLoki’smany dimensions and timelines.
Whatever the case, the promise of seeing not one but many versions of Hiddletone’s character inLokiis quite promising, as Lady Loki and Kid Loki could prove to be the ones that finally lead the god of mischief towards a proper path to redemption and, just maybe, salvation.
Lokiis set to release on Disney Plus on July 28, 2025.
