UPDATE: Bandai Namco has released official screenshots of Izuku Midoriya fromMy Hero AcademiainJump Force.

The original story follows.

One of the biggest surprises atMicrosoft’s E3 2018 press conferencewas the announcement ofJump Force, an ambitious crossover fighting game featuring some of the most recognizable stars in anime history. Since the game’s announcement, many big-name stars have been confirmed for the roster, including Goku, Naruto, Luffy fromOne Piece, and more. However, until now, the game has been sorely missing representation from what is arguably the hottest shonen anime around.

As has been confirmed in theWeekly Jumppublication in Japan, Izuku Midoriya fromMy Hero Academiais joining theJump Forceroster. Midoriya will be sporting his familiar green costume from the anime and manga, though he will be given a more realistic design to match the game’s art style.

Further details aren’t available at this time, and a trailer for Midoriya has yet to be released. However, considering the hype surrounding theMy Hero Academiaanime and manga, fans shouldn’t be surprised to see an official trailer confirming Midoriya’s inclusion on theJump Forceroster sooner rather than later.

In the meantime, it will be interesting to see if even moreMy Hero Academiacharacters are added toJump Force’s roster by the time the game launches in February.Dragon Ball,Naruto, andOne Pieceall have representation from multiple characters, as doesBleach. However, there are some instances where there is only one character representing an anime/manga franchise inJump Force, as is the case with Yugi Moto fromYu-Gi-Oh!, Kenshiro fromFist of the North Star, and Asta fromBlack Clover.

The game will also feature some anime characters who won’t be part of the playable roster, but will serve a role in its plot.Light Yagami and Ryuk fromDeath Notefit into this category, and it’s certainly possible that some otherMy Hero Academiacharacters may show up in this capacity as well.

Fans should learn even Force’s roster, and whether or not moreMy Hero Academiacharacters are in store, as we near the game’s release date.
