In fact, even Sukuna believed that taking a Hollow Purple at full strength from a very close range would lead to his death. Sukuna ended up taking two Hollow Purples, however, both of them were from a distance, and thus, he survived. The first was launched from a few miles away, while the second one was a remote Hollow Purple and, thus, not at full strength.
