A new mod forFallout 4called “Galac Tac Mercs and Music” has just been released, which adds a huge amount of content to the game, including 30 new missions. WhileBethesda is busy working onStarfield, which is due out sometime next year, the modding community is hard at work putting their own efforts into the post-apocalyptic series. Despite how big the fourth game is in its vanilla form, it doesn’t stop many from expanding it even further.

Anyone who plays the game, especially on PC, knows just how many ways there are to modify the post-apocalyptic title, and some of these custom add-ons can really change up the experience. For example, there’s amod forFallout 4that overhauls some of the core mechanicsof the game, such as rebalancing combat and enhancing the stealth feature. There’s also one that essentially turns the entire Commonwealth into a volcanic wasteland, giving the whole game a different look to the one many are used to.

Then there’s Varangian Studio’s “Galac Tac Mercs and Music.” As reported by DSO Gaming, this is actually a follow-up to anotherFallout 4mod, with this latest offering adding a new story, missions, companions, and armor. On top of that, there’s the aforementioned 30 quests, as well as a “light morality” system, a custom skin for the Pip-Boy, and some new locations. It even has licensed music from a Chicago-based grunge band called LEVER. The mod utilizes the “Automatron” DLC, so players will need to have this in order to play this rather ambitious mod.

This is also not the first lofty project for the game that’s come out of the woodwork. Many will be familiar with theFallout Londonmod which had a demo released last month, with the final product expected to come out next year. As the name suggests, this DLC-sized add-on turns the English capital city into the Wasteland, adding a short quest, a new merchant, and a lot more. Essentially, there are teams of people out there in the community that have a vested interest in improving on Bethesda’s formula for the 2015 game.

WhileFallout New Vegasis considered the superior entryby many people, the fourth installment is still pretty solid. It allowed players to experience the very beginning of the nuclear apocalypse, as well as implementing a settlement builder function. There will also be aFallout 5, which was confirmed by Todd Howard, but that is likely to be years away yet, especially given thatThe Elder Scrolls 6has not had any updates in terms of development and the company has said it is focusing on that game first.

Fallout 4is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
