Fallout 4has received a next-gen update alongside the popularFalloutTV show. This update has added some graphical improvements and a few new bits of content for players to find.Fallout 4added settlement building to the long-running franchise. It’s completely optional, but can be a good way to gain resources and caps. You can bring civilization back to the Commonwealth or focus on building a single town.
Either way, it’s useful to have more settlers living in your settlements as they can man defenses, farms, and even shops. You start off with a small group of settlers inyour hometown of Sanctuary.Help out other settlements through Minutemen quests to gain more areas that you can build and maintain. Here are the ways you can recruit and attract more settlers to your settlements.
Build a Recruitment Radio Beacon
Open up your workshop while in a settlement to access the Miscellaneous menu in the Power tab. Here is where you will find the Recruitment Radio Beacon.Build one and place it in your settlement.You will also have to build a generator and attach it to give the beacon power. Switch the beacon on and it will occasionally attract new settlers. you may also place a beacon in other settlements. When settlers have arrived in other areas, you can assign them to a settlement of your choosing.
Recruiting Settlers
You will meet certain NPCs along your journey that can be recruited/hired to your settlements. You can usually offer them a spot after you’ve finished their quests and helped them out. Once they’ve agreed, you can send themto any available settlement.
Manage Resources
Named characters will stick with you, but basic settlers can leave if they are unhappy. You can view your settlement’s mood in the workshop HUD and on the Pip Boy map. The arrow next to the meter will point up or down as morale swings. You must provide basic needs for your population as your settlement expands. This means buildingbeds, defenses, and supplying water/food.You will need more of these resources every time a new settler joins up with you. Occasionally check to see that morale is holding steady while youare exploring the wasteland.
Level Up Charisma
Charisma is one of the main stats inFallout 4.You will choose a base amount of charisma during the game’s intro. You can level it up using skill points as you progress, along with wearing certain clothing items to boost it.You can have a larger settler population with higher Charisma.
