A couple ofOverwatch 2players decided to go ahead and honor one of the game’s greatest memes so far, capturing a hilarious picture of Kiriko which references one of the support hero’s most popular voice lines seen in the game. Players have had a lot of new content to enjoy sinceOverwatch 2finally released late in 2022, with a total of 4 new heroes bringing a number of fresh and quirky personalities to the battlefield so far.

Voice lines inOverwatch 2and its predecessor have long since provided a source of meme material for the community to dig into, andOverwatch 2hasn’t backed down in bringing many moreof them to the table, either. These unlockable lines of dialogue have been present in the series since it first made its appearance back in 2016, with every hero - even Bastion, a robot who doesn’t communicate with words - having their own diverse list of unique lines. Players are able to unlock these cosmetic items typically by purchasing them individually with a small number of Overwatch Coins, and while they don’t offer anything of particular value toOverwatch 2’s gameplay, lots of fans enjoy spamming certain lines during matches simply because doing so is funny. The community has a range of favored voice lines, a classic example being Sombra’s “Boop” line, although more recently-added examples would include Sojourn simply saying the word “Croissant” and, of course, Kiriko’s famous “Wait until you see me on my bike!”

One member of theOverwatch 2community named Redstone_Army on Reddit made a post showing off a screenshot that features Kiriko actually riding a bike found on one of the many maps in the game. Clearly done as a reference to the fan-favorite voice line from the kunai-wielding support hero, the image captures another player as Kiriko standing precariously atop one of the futuristic-looking bikes seenin the world ofOverwatch 2.

Some fans invested in the characters and community culture surroundingOverwatch 2have even taken to creating their own art of Kiriko riding her bike, with Kiriko herself quickly becoming a fan-favorite character among many in the fanbase. ArtisticOverwatch 2players have used Kirikoas the subject for many of their own adorable fan creations in the months since her addition to the hero roster, with one example even including a set of chibi-style Kiriko stickers.

Partly thanks to its status as a free-to-play game,Overwatch 2has been enjoying a grand resurgencein popularity, even hitting an all-time high in terms of player count in the weeks following its launch. While its many characters and memes are certainly a staple part of the game, the majority of fans haven’t been happy with many of the developers' decisions regarding monetization and balancing, with hefty cosmetic prices in particular continuing to be one of the largest complaints from players.

Overwatch 2is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
