Months after theFortnitebattle royale map was covered in snow, Season 8 of the game is live, bringing with it pirate ships, volcanoes, and more. And as usual,Season 8 also includes its own battle passthat tasks players with completing a variety of challenges in exchange for special rewards, with players having a total of seven challenges to complete this week.
Here is how to complete all of the Season 8 Week 1 challenges inFortnite.

1. Visit All Pirate Camps (0/7)
With Season 8’s pirate theme, it’s no surprise that the Season 8 challenges involve pirates. The first challenge of the week is to visit theseven different pirate campsthat have been set up around the battle royale map. This will lead players to all of the different biomes, including the jungle, desert, and snow.Fortniteplayers don’t have to complete this challenge in one match, but it’s possible to do so if they’re quick enough.
2. Search Chests at Retail Row or Junk Junction (0/7)
The second challenge for Season 8 Week 1 inFortnitehas players visiting a pair of familiar locations in Junk Junction and Retail Row. Players simply need to visit these places and loot a total of seven chests between the two of them, which is pretty easy and self-explanatory.
3. Deal Damage with a Shotgun and an Explosive Weapon in a Single Match
This is a multi-step challenge that will have players deal damage with a different pairing of weapon types after they complete this one. Success with this challenge is largely going to depend on what players are able to get in the game in terms of loot. Any explosive weapon should count, though a rocket launcher will probably make it much easier.
4. Visit A Giant Face in the Desert, Jungle, and the Snow
There arethree giant faceshidden around the battle royale map. One can be found in the new jungle biome near Lazy Lagoon, another can be found in the snow biome near Happy Hamlet, and the third can be found in the desert biome, south of Paradise Palms. Players simply need visit all three faces to complete this challenge, and they don’t have to do it in a single match.
5. Use A Volcano Vent in Different Matches (0/5)
Where Wailing Woods once stood on the battle royale map is now a large volcano. The volcano actually has some loot and a throne hidden inside, and there are special air vents that players can utilize to avoid falling to their death in the lava. Players will need to use the vents in five different matches to complete this particular challenge, so they may want to consider just landing at the volcano at the start of the game until this one is complete.
6. Get An Elimination With A Shotgun, Assault Rifle, and Explosive Weapon
As the name of thisFortnitechallenge suggests, players need to get an elimination with three different weapon types. Luckily, this challenge may very well help players complete the multi-step “deal damage” challenge, especially the first step that requires players deal damage with both a shotgun and an explosive weapon in a single match.
7. Deal Damage To A Vehicle Driven By An Opponent
Another self-explanatory challenge, but this one would have been easier if the plane wasn’t vaulted. The plane, the shopping cart, and golf kart have all been vaultedas of the Season 8 update, soFortniteplayers will have to attack enemies that are on quadcrashers or the driftboard. If a new, larger vehicle is added to the game later in the season, this challenge should be much easier to complete.
And with that,Fortniteplayers will have completed all of the Season 8 week 1 challenges. They can then turn their attention to finding theweek 1 hidden battle star, and prepare themselves for next week’s set of challenges.

Fortniteis out now in early access for Android, iOS, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
