TheStrike the Bloodofficial website announced on Fridaythat a new OVA serieswill be airing in 2022. The fifth OVA season will be titled,Strike The BloodFINAL, and will adapt the 22nd and final volume of the main light novel series.
The series will be comprised of four episodes. The first two will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on March 30, with the second half following on June 29.

Thefirst volumewill have a limited first edition released with various bonus extras such as audio commentary for the first episode and a television AD. A booklet with a new short story by author Gakuto Mikumo, as well as volume and manga notes will also be included.
Much of the series staff and cast will return for the final OVA season. Director Hideyo Yamamoto, composer Assumed Sounds, scriptwriter Hiroyuki Yoshino, and character designer Keiichi Sano will all reprise their roles.
Yamamoto has directed everyStrike the Bloodanime project and also worked on theProfessor Layton and the Eternal Divafilmand episode six ofRe:Zero. Yoshino has served as screenwriter for eachStrike the Bloodanime project, and has also done work on theA Certain Magical IndexandCode Geassseries. Sano is best known for doing the character designs forAbsolute DuoandRestaurant to Another Worldalongside his extensive work onStrike the Blood.
Gakuto Mikumo’sStrike the Bloodlight novel series was serialized in ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Bunko imprint from 2011-2020. The series accumulated 22 mainline volumes alongside two additional side-story compilations during its run.
Amanga adaptationillustrated by Tate ran in the Dengeki Daioh imprint from 2012-2016, spanning 10 collected volumes.
The first anime series aired from 2013-2014 and ran for 24 episodes. The series was co-produced by Silver Link and Connect, and would be until the release of the 10-episodeStrike the Blood IIIOVA which ran from 2018-2019. An OBA special titled,Strike the Blood: Disappearing Holy Lance Arcaired in January 2020, and was the first animated project not based off on a story from the light novels.
Yen Press publishes both the light novel and manga series in English. Crunchyroll streamed the first anime series as it aired in Japan, and Discotek Media licensed it for home release in English.
