Summary
After the 20-episode release of theEminence in Shadowanime series in Fall 2022, fans got excited for more to come as the anime developed a fan base. While season one explored the background of Minoru Kagenou, who, despite his overwhelming power, wants to be a background character, season two will introduce various new elements to the story.
After Kadokawa dropped the first trailer for season two, fans saw that season two of theEminence in Shadowanime series will have a different theme and setting from season one. Although the anime is expected to retain some of its more ‘hilarious’ aspects, the presence of the ‘Red Moon’ is sure to make it uniquely different. With its unique protagonist, slick fight scenes, and the overall audaciousness of Shadow, the leader of Shadow Garden, there is a feeling that fans cannot wait to see what season two has in store for them.

Eminence In Shadow: Season One Recap
In the show’s first season,Cid Kagenoustarts out as a boy who has always wanted to become theEminence in Shadow. To perfectly become the character he has envisioned himself to be, Cid lives as a ‘background character’ who avoids attention at all costs. After finding it difficult to face an ex-military official, Cid becomes desperate for more power and loses his life after he collides with a truck. Fortunately for the young boy, his dreams do not end there, as he reincarnates into a world where he can better realize his dream of becoming the Eminence in Shadow. With memories of his past life, magic, andsword fighting at his fingertips, nothing will get in Cid’s way.
After his reincarnation into another world, Cid comes across a young girl who was taken captive. He then tells her aboutthe Cult of Diablos—an ancient and secretive cult born from his imagination that seeks to manipulate global affairs from the shadows. However, as Cid battles individuals with a form of demonic power that strives to gain immortality, it seems the Cult of Diablos is not as imaginary as Cid thought, even though he seems oblivious to them actually existing outside of his imagination. As fate would have it, the young girl Cid saved in the past, named Alpha, went on to establishShadow Garden, whose purpose is to rid the world of the Cult of Diablos. With Cid as the leader of Shadow Garden under the guise of his shadow persona, a cleansing begins.
Expectations For Season Two
After fans bore witness to theEminence in Shadow’sseason one, which was filled witha lot of comedy, intrigue, and spectacular fight scenes, they cannot help but get excited to see what season two has in store for them.
Lawless City, a city well known for its intensive criminal activity, is the setting for season two of theEminence in Shadowanime series. Continuing from the conclusion of the Bushin Festival in season one, Cid is seen celebrating with his sister, Claire, over her ‘victory’ in the Bushin Festival. However, he is then coerced to join his sister’s expedition to Lawless City to defeat the Blood Queen alongside the Magic Swordsmen Association. Thinking of making money on the expedition and participating in the legendary Red Moon event, Cid joins the expedition. However, as an expert at landing himself in trouble, Cid quickly comes across the Blood Queen, a progenitor vampire, and the rulers of Lawless City—Crimson the Vampire, Juggernaut the Tyrant, and Yukime the Spirit Fox.
The Second Season Of The Series And Its Release Date
So far, the cast and staff that worked on season one of the anime series will reappear for season two. As Studio Nexus produced the first season, they will also produce the second season, and Kazuya Nakanishi will be its chief animation director.
While many cast members and staff will return to work on season two as they did in season one, some new cast members will also appear as various prominent characters (antagonists) are introduced. Tomokazu Sugita will play the role of Crimson the Vampire, Tsuyoshi Koyama will play the role of Juggernaut the Tyrant, and Shizuka Ito will play the role of Yukime the Spirit Fox.
While the exact date remains unconfirmed, the second season of theEminence in Shadowanime series was confirmed to air in October 2023(Fall 2023)earlier in the year. The series will be available to stream in the United States and other selected countries.
