AnElden Ringfan uses a ridiculous rubber band trick in the boss fight against Malenia. While there are manydifficult boss fights inElden Ring, Malenia is probably the most challenging encounter in the game, and recent data suggested that gamers have tried beating her over 320 million times. This number is higher than any other boss inElden Ring, with Radagon, Radahn, Margit, and the Tree Sentinel in Limgrave also a part of the list.

Even though Malenia is already a difficult fight, some players put certain restrictions upon themselves to make it more challenging. As an example, gamers havebeaten Malenia despite being level 1 inElden Ring, while some others have bested her without ever rolling. Now, oneElden Ringplayer fights Malenia in perhaps the most ridiculous way possible, and it involves attaching a rubber band to the controller.

A Reddit user named BrownVented has shared a video of their fight against Malenia, and the player has made an interesting change to their controller to make the battle more difficult. As seen at the beginning of the video, BrownVented has attached a rubber band to theirDualSense controller, making it so that the right stick is held firmly in the right direction. As a result, the camera is constantly spinning to the right for the whole duration of the fight, making an already difficult battle even more challenging.

The right stick is also used to lock on to enemies inElden Ringand other soulslike games, making this encounter even harder. The player gets unbelievably close to beating Malenia in this unique fashion, but they die right at the end, with the boss only having a sliver of health left. This is perhaps one of the most difficult ways of fighting Malenia, or any boss inElden Ring, and it’ll be interesting to see if the player can manage to defeat her using this method in the future.

Many users in the comments section express discomfort at the camera always spinning, with one player claiming to have stopped the video after 20 seconds. Even though the player lost the fight, several gamers congratulate BrownVented on the effort, with many being impressed at the player’s determination. It doesn’t seem like otherElden Ringfans will try out this method anytime soon, as one user states that it took them 484 tries to defeat Malenia in a normal battle.

Elden Ringis available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
