Wizards of the Coast just released officialDungeons and Dragonsstat blocks for the major characters from the upcomingHonor Among Thievesmovie. These stat blocks are fully compatible with5th Edition, allowing players to drop these characters into theirDungeons and Dragonscampaigns with little effort.Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thievesis the upcomingD&D-inspired action fantasy film produced by Paramount Pictures. There are seven stat blocks in total: Edgin and his companions Doric, Holga, Simon, and Xenk, Hugh Grant’s devilishly charming Forge Fitzwilliam, and Sofina herself. Each of these stat blocks has a number of fun, flavorful abilities to add some excitement to anyDungeons and Dragonsencounter.
These stat blocks also give players a glimpse of what to expect in the movie. Forge’s alignment is Neutral Evil, and has an ability that lets him score a critical hit on allies, suggesting he will probably betray the party at some point. Sofina has the ability to call down meteors from the sky and raise wraiths, hinting at some powers she may use. Whenplayers seeHonor Among Thieves, they will have to see if they can spot these abilities and items from the stat blocks on the big screen.
Players are excited to see these awesomeDungeons and Dragonscharacter stat blocks. The backstories and abilities found within not only gave players a sneak preview ofHonor Among Thieves, but also towards what the enemies inOne D&Dmight look like. As the stats follow the simple-but-dynamic precedents set inMordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse, players can expect to see more of the same whenOne D&Dlaunches next year.
Some players couldn’t help but notice some oddities with the stat blocks, especially surrounding Doric the Druid.One D&Drecently released a playtest for the Druid classwith a new take on Wild Shape that works drastically different from how it does in5th Editionor with Doric’s Change Shape ability. Many players were critical of this new system, soDungeons and Dragonsmay change the Druid Wild Shape to work more like it does in Doric’s stat block if it gets a lot of negative feedback from the upcoming survey forOne D&D.
Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thievesis scheduled to be released in theaters on March 31.
