While the main quest ofDragon’s Dogma 2beckons the moment you enter Melve, there are a few quests you can find and complete before you need to leave. One of them comes from a man named Ian, whose brother went out into the woods to collect herbs and hasn’t come back.
Accepting this quest will allow you to explore the northwest corner of the area you start in. Just make sure you prepare properlywith health potions and decent equipmentbecause this part of the tutorial region can be surprisingly dangerous when you’re just starting inDragon’s Dogma 2.

How to Start Brothers Brave and Timid
You can find Ian during the day near the base of the hill Melve sits on. He paces around as he worries about his brother, and he’ll start a conversation with you if you get close enough. Ian will explain that his brother, Norbert, went off to collect herbs on his own, but wolves and other dangerous monsters have started appearing in the area more frequently following the dragon attack.
When you accept this quest, Ian will try to give you directions, but then give up and tell you to follow him instead. Ian can lead the way if you stick to a jogging pace, and he’ll lead you to the region indicated by the “Brothers Brave and Timid” quest. However, unlike the earlier quest, “Ordeals of a New Recruit,” this quest doesn’t have a timer. In fact, you may use the campsite along the wayif you need to restore to full health.

If you leave him too far behind, Ian will go back to Melve, and you’ll need to go back and get him to keep this quest going.
How to Save Norbert
Once you reach the area indicated by the quest, you should find Norbert fending off an attack by a pack of wolves. The best way to handle wolves inDragon’s Dogma 2is to keep your distance, and if that’s not an option, you should jump in and out of range and stay mobile. Wolves love to knock you down, and they can attack you in packs even when you’re on the ground.
Completing The Brothers Brave and Timid Quest
After you take care of the wolves, the two brothers will reunite. They want to head straight back to Melve, but you don’t have to go there directly. For the moment, Ian and Norbert are invincible, so you can take them with you as you explore the rest of the northwest corner of the map. They can even help you fight the cyclops that’s a way north of where you find Norbert, although they can’t do much aside from drawing the monster’s attention.
The quest will end once you get both brothers across the bridge that leads to Melve. If you lose track of either one, you’ll need to head back to the spot where you rescued Norbert to retrieve them. For completing this quest,Dragon’s Dogma 2rewards you 400 XP, 1,500 gold, and aHomespun Cloak.
