After many years of celebrating some of the same holidays,The Muppetswill officially have their first Halloween special.Muppets Haunted Mansionwill premiere on Disney Plus in October.
Earlier this year,the Muppetsannounced that they would cross over withThe Haunted Mansion just in time for the spooky holiday. However, fans had been left without a precise premiere date, until now that is.

On their official Twitter account, the Muppets shared that the special will begin streaming on Disney Plus on October 8. The announcement was accompanied by an official poster for the special that displayeda few famous Muppets. The poster includes Gonzo, Kermit, and Miss Piggy, along with a few additional friends as they accompany Gonzo on his trip to the Haunted Mansion. In typical Muppet fashion, the Halloween special will also feature celebrity guests and a few original songs.
Muppers Haunted Mansionwill follow the infamous daredevil, the Great Gonzo, as he tries to survive a night in the Haunted Mansion. The special will be inspired by the various Haunted Mansion attractions found at Disney theme parks across the globe.The Haunted Mansionis an attraction at Disneyland Park, Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland, and Hong Kong Disneyland. As different as each location is, the ride takes visitors on a chilling journey through the haunted estate.
In 2003,The Haunted Mansionstarring Eddie Murphy attempted to bring the attraction to life. The film featured a number of characters Disney fans will find at the various Haunted Mansion attractions across the globe. The newMuppets Haunted Mansionposter begins to teasesome of the references the Muppet special promisesto bring, including a few characters that theHaunted Mansionwouldn’t be complete without. In the released poster, Miss Piggy shows some clear resemblance to Madame Leota. As the woman “beloved by all,” should Madame Leota be channeled by any Muppet, it’s fitting that it would be Miss Piggy.
Over recent years, the Muppets have had a few rejuvenations, which can be streamed on Disney Plus. In 2020, the Muppets starred inMuppets Now, where the group was met with their fair share of obstacles as Scooter works to upload a new Muppet series. While most fans enjoyed the series, many were upset with the short length. With the new release andcrossover withThe Haunted Mansion, Muppet fans may finally get the special they’ve been waiting for. With the shenanigans the Muppets get into, they will surely make Gonzo’s night in the Mansion one to remember.
Muppets Haunted Mansionwill premiere on Disney Plus on June 30, 2025.
