As fans continue to wait for May 18 to seeDestiny 2in action for the first time, smaller bits of information continue to arrive almost on a weekly basis. This past week on an earnings call, Activision revealed that Bungie is planning on curating acontinuous calendar of eventsto keep the player base engaged after the season pass DLC launches. Not only that, Vicarious Visions has been assisting Bungie in creating content for the unannounced season pass content as well.

In the meantime however,Destinyis planning on mixing things up this week with its fan favorite Iron Banner crucible mode. While traditional modes like Control and Clash have been prominent features to the limit time event, Bungie istrying something new with Mayhem Clashthis time. The mode essentially reduces all cool downs and charges guardian super abilities much faster than normal, so the Iron Banner should be fairly entertaining this time around at the very least.

Destiny 2 events post-launch DLC

Before heading into the chaos of the Crucible, a new week inDestinybrings all sorts of new content with it like quests, bounties, and events for players to check out. Here’s everything players need to know for the week of July 01, 2025.

Featured Raid

For those who may have missed his return four weeks ago, Oryx and his army are back this week with the newly enhanced King’s Fall raid. Of course, this is the best and only opportunity to obtainexclusive 390 raid gear and weaponsuntil the raid goes back on the shelf for another four weeks.

Unlike the other raids, players have an opportunity to finish off three challenges in King’s Fall, offering greater rewards than normal. Here’s what to do to satisfy all three challenges this week:

As usual, players have only seven days to earn the raid specific loot as the nextDestinyreset showcases a new raid. Next week see the return of Aksis and his SIVA enhanced Devil Splicers in the Wrath of the Machine.

Weekly Vanguard Nightfall

This week in the Nightfall, guardians are heading back to Mars to do battle with Cabal Fleet Commander, Valus Ta’aurc and his Imperial Land Tank before they can destroy the city of Freehold. While Cerberus Vae III was originally included in the baseDestinypackage, the strike did received a few tweaks and updates once The Taken King expansion launched in 2015.

Via the Rubicon Wastes of Mars, players will infiltrate the Cabal stronghold in the Trenchworks where both Cabal and Taken enemies stand in the way. Most of the strike is fairly straightforward, as the three person fireteam navigates through various paths and rooms. Things escalate towards the end of the level where Ta’aurc’s personal guards lie in wait. Val Bou’urc, Val Zu’uarc, Val Ma’aurg, are all straightforward battles, though the last member, Val Ca’aul, mixes things up by occupying a large tank. Players can opt to fight on foot or use the numerous interceptors laying around for added firepower.

Once the guard are dealt with, Valus Ta’aurc’s ship waits in the Valley of the Kings. Inside, the final boss battle begins pitting players against the Cabal Colossus. Aim for his head to inflict the most damage, but make sure to watch out as his tactics change once his health gets low. He stays on the lower floor for most of the fight, but will jump to the second floor towards the end of the fight.

The active modifiers this week are:

SIVA Crisis Heroic Strike Playlist

The SIVA Crisis Heroic Strike playlist once again provides a burn modifier this week, amplifying all void specific damage. As always, completing this playlist earns players a Treasure of Ages, 30 Legendary Marks, and arare Skeleton Keyswhich have a better chance at dropping in the SIVA Heroic Crisis playlist outside of finishing the Nightfall.

Weekly Story Playlist

One of the more underrated additions to the Age of Triumph update is theWeekly Story Playlist, which essentially remixes many of the story missions based around a certain theme each week. In addition to added modifier challenges, players can consistently earn legendary marks as well as a Treasure of Ages reward box for the first time completion during the week.

The playlist this week focuses on missions based on the Mars and Venus. In this case, expect to see plenty of Vex and Cabal specific missions, along with potential stories from some of the expansions as well like House of Wolves.

Weekly Crucible Playlist

As mentioned above, the Iron Banner is back this week after being away for a month. Bungie is trying something new with the mode this week as the featured mode in the Iron Banner is Mayhem Clash, a team deathmatch mode that has significantly reduced cooldowns, ammo crates, and charges super meters much faster than normal.

Once the game updates around mid day, Iron Banner should be replacing the current placeholder offering of Zone Control.

As expected, the otherCrucible modes have once again rotatedfor this week as they have since Age of Triumph launched back in March. This week, players will find:

Iron Temple and Tower Bounties

As it is every week, the local Cryptarch of the Iron Temple, Tyra Karn, has three newIron Lord Artifactson offer in exchange for help around the Plaguelands. Interested players can accept her weekly Artifacts of the Iron Lords quest in exchange for a token which can be redeemed for one of the three. This week she’s offering:

The Vanguard scout Shiro-4 has four more Iron Lord bounties this week including his weekly Plaguelander quest, where he sends players out to finish up a variety of patrols. Three out of the four bounties are unfortunately repeats from last week, but at least they’re easy enough to knock out. Here’s what’s available from Shiro this week:

Don’t forget that by finishing these bounties, players have a slight chance at starting theThorn exotic quest line. It’s one of four that is needed to finish off the four exotic quests condition in theRise of Ironrecord book.

Tower Content

Before heading out, stop by the Tower and speak to Lord Shaxx, who’s offering new gear, content, and two bounties for eager competitive players. This week, the Crucible handler is offering bounties for both Control and Supremacy. Here’s how to finish both:

The Titan vanguard, Commander Zavala is also nearby offering his usual threestrike elite bounties. Along with both Sunrise and Strike Elite, Clean Up is the third featured bounty this week. In order to complete each one, here’s what needs to be done:

For players not interested in the Nightfall, these weekly Strike and Crucible bounties are alternative ways to earn Nightfall tier rewards and loot that will help get closer to thatmaximum light level of 400. TheIcebreaker exotic questalso has a small chance to be started by turning in the Sunrise bounty each week.

Challenge of the Elders

Finally in the Challenge of the Elders playlist, players can go toe to toe with three bosses in exchange for some high light loot and House of Wolves specific gear. Visit The Reef and speak to Variks to get started by obtaining hisElder’s Sigilas well.

After a particularly difficult set of modifiers last week, the arena has eased up on the difficulty this time around. Here are the featured modifiers:

And that wraps up another week of content, Guardians. Enjoy!
