A Reddit user named AtlyxMusic shared a discovery made by a member of the Destiny Music Discord server discovering an Instagram post from Ella Feingold, one of Bungie’s music orchestrators. In what appears to be a tease for The Final Shape soundtrack, considering parts of the music is currently being recorded in Nashville, Feingold’s picture displays what appears to be the top of sheet music with part of it whited out except the name of Sir Paul McCartney. Looking closer at the whited out parts, it appears that one of the names listed is also that of M. O’Donnell, referencing Bungie’s longtime Audio Director who worked with McCartney on thefirstDestinyto create a music suite known as Music of the Spheres.

As many know,Martin O’Donnell was fired by Bungie in 2014, kicking off a legal battle between the two sides before it was ultimately settled. Ultimately, Music of the Sphere’s went unreleased before being leaked and then officially released in 2018. While the sheet music Instagram post doesn’t confirm anything, including new music being put together by O’Donnell or McCartney, many in the Reddit thread have started to assume that the original title track called “Hope for the Future” could be coming back in The FInal Shape as a way to tie everything together. At the very least, players may hear the familiar melody in some capacity.

In addition to music, The Final Shape is likely attempting to neatly wrap up as many of the game’s storylines as possible while also introducing a few mysteries as well. In the first teaser, fans saw a somehow revived Cayde-6, bringing back the old Hunter Vanguard, who had fallen a few years ago during the events of the Forsaken expansion forDestiny 2.

Destiny 2is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
