Activision Blizzard recently revealed the Ricochet anti-cheat coming toCall of Duty: Warzonein the near future, but there’s already bad news for people who were looking forward to its addition. The code to the anti-cheat has already been leaked to hackers who are already dissecting it.

Call of Duty: Warzonehas been plagued by cheaters since it was released back in 2020 after the launch ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare. Raven Software has made several attempts to curb the significant numbers of cheaters in the battle royale but has so far been unsuccessful. With the Ricochet code already having been leaked, it looks like developers may still have trouble preventing people from cheating inCall of Duty: Warzone.

According to the Anti-Cheat Police Twitter account, the kernel driver of the Ricochet anti-cheat has been leaked online. The leaker stated “have fun” alongside a download link called “it do be sus.” TheRicochet download file leakedonline includes Activision Blizzard’s digital signature, with a signing date of September 30. The leaker also discussed obfuscation of junk code rather than a virtualized driver.

P2C developers are already working to protect the Ricochet anti-cheat due to the leak. Although the Anti-Cheat Police are seemingly hoping that they are able to launch Ricochet without problems, they’ve confirmed that the leak is “very bad.” WithCall of Duty: Warzonefans expecting the Ricochet anti-cheat after the release ofCall of Duty: Vanguard, these developers are on a tight schedule.

The Anti-Cheat Police didn’t pull any punches with the Ricochet leak, stating that other games have no issues keeping cheaters at bay. The Twitter account specifically pointed outRiot Games’Valorantwhich is also free to play, but there are very few hacks that remain undetected by the anti-cheat. Another Twitter user also pointed out that machine learning can still be implemented into the Ricochet anti-cheat which would help mitigateCall of Duty: Warzoneplayers who cheat.

Although theCall of Duty: Warzonemap has changedseveral times since the battle royale released, developers have been unable to curb the prevalent cheating. Although Raven Software has banned countless cheaters sinceCall of Duty: Warzonelaunched, they’re still spotted in the battle royale today. Some cheaters have even been caught on livestream, with popular streamers like Dr Disrespect, TimtheTatman, and Nickmercs being gunned down by them from time to time.

Considering the fact that the Ricochet anti-cheat has been leaked online,Call of Duty: Warzonefans may have to wait even longer for cheating to stop in the battle royale. The Ricochet leak may not only impact cheating inCall of Duty: Warzone, butCall of Duty: Vanguardmultiplayeras well. With developers already working on a fix to the leaked data, players may not actually be impacted when it eventually releases.
