Currently,Modern Warfareis in the midst ofthe Games of Summer eventin Season 5 Reloaded, where players complete single player trials against other countries to earn high scores and receive in-game prizes. While Season 5 is probably about halfway over by now, Season 6 is nearing its approach. The start of Season 6 will bring tons of new content toModern WarfareandWarzonein the way of new maps, new cosmetics, and brand new weapons for players to unlock. It seems leakers may already be checking out one of the new guns for Season 6 if a recent Twitter video is to be believed.
The leak comes by way of Call of Duty leaker and content creator BKTOOR on Twitter. The video in question shows gameplay of a player picking up and shooting what looks like the AA-12 shotgun without a complete texture. Veteran Call of Duty players will remember the AA-12 fromModern Warfare 2or more recently from thecampaign ofModern Warfare 2 Remastered. This is yet another returning gun from the series history, like the AK-47, Desert Eagle, and M14.
It’s important to remember that this video is unofficial and still unconfirmed by Activision and Infinity Ward. However, BKTOOR has a history of leaking for bothModern WarfareandWarzone, so there’s a solid chance that the AA-12 will actual return sometimeModern Warfare’s future. The AA-12 is a fully automatic shotgun, which hasn’t been seen inModern Warfareup to this point.Shotguns like the R9-0or Model 680 are pump action, while the Origin 12 shotgun is semi-automatic.
If the AA-12 is actually coming toModern WarfareandWarzoneduring Season 6, it will surely shake things up quite a bit. Shotguns inModern Warfareusually stay out of the highest tiers of most weapon tier lists, but the AA-12 could be the shotgun that changes that. The 725 shotgun was one of the best guns during the early days ofModern Warfare, however the725 eventually saw several nerfsthat dethroned it. Hopefully, the AA-12 can bring shotgun players some satisfaction in online matches.
