The upcomingCall of Duty: Modern Warfareby celebrated series developer Infinity Ward has gained a lot of traction since its rumors initially started building up, such as when anex-developer of theModern Warfareseries teased the game. Now, in addition to previously revealed features and gameplay footage, a small gameplay detail regarding the watches on soldiers' wrists has fans even more excited for the attention-to-detail given toCall of Duty: Modern Warfareby Infinity Ward.

A recent trailer teasing a new multiplayer mode inCall of Duty: Modern Warfarewas posted on Twitter to the officialCall of DutyTwitter page. As can be seen in the video below, a helicopter transports some soldiers to a map with a military structure of some kind and brings them to land on the ground. The soldier whose perspective viewers see through brings up his gun and a watch can be seen on the soldier’s wrist, which displays an actual time, corresponding to the clock on the player’s PC or console.

Players were initially concerned both that the time displayed may have been the time in-game and that Infinity Ward may be focused on smaller and inconsequential details to the overall experience. However, it was confirmed by the Art Director at Infinity Ward on Reddit that it wasn’t time-consuming to add it to the game.

“Fun fact. Metal of Honor ‘Allied Assault’ developed by 2015 pre Infinity Ward, had a clock shader that did the same thing in 2002. A feature from 17 years ago. An Infinity Ward artist named Jeff Heath used to complain all the time in the art pit that we didn’t have it when developing COD and hey….now we do. Turns out it wasn’t that hard to pull off. It adds some complexity to the game and didn’t hurt development. Win win my friends.”

Overall, it seems that the developers at Infinity Ward are truly dedicated to delivering fans an immersive experience. BetweenModern Warfaremissions continuing even after the death of civiliansand a number of other factors, Infinity Ward is truly focused on what will make the most realisticCall of Dutypossible. All eyes are on the developer currently, as theModern Warfareseries is a highly-beloved one, and it will be interesting to see if the new game will live up to the hype.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfarewill release October 25 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
