Prior to herJurassicWorlddays, Bryce Dallas Howard appeared in Sam Raimi’sSpider-Man 3as Peter Parker’s love interest Gwen Stacy. Now, Howard has said that Stacy is a role she’d be willing to reprise in a newSpider-Manfilm.
Spider-Man 3introduced Gwen Stacy toTobey Maguire’s Peter Parker, but it would ultimately be her only appearance since Sony opted to reboot the franchise afterward. Still, Howard noted that the current multiverse craze taking over superhero films provides the perfect opportunity for her to return as Gwen Stacy.

Howard told People that she would be open to playing Gwen Stacy again. “That would be so fun,” she said. “Since we are exploring multiverses — and by we are exploring it, they are exploring it, and I’m enjoying it. I would always be game.” Howard also gave aheartfelt nod to Emma Stone, who portrayed Gwen Stacy inThe Amazing Spider-Manfranchise that starred actor Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker. Dallas gushed to People, “Emma Stone, in my perspective as a fan, is the definitive Gwen Stacy in that universe.”
Marvel Studios' blockbuster filmSpider-Man: No Way Homebrought three generationsof the web-slinger to the big screen. After Tom Holland’s Marvel Cinematic Universe Spidey accidentally rips open the multiverse after a spell mix-up with Doctor Strange(played by Benedict Cumberbatch), two different versions ofSpider-Manenter Earth 616, along with the evilest villains from each heroes' universe. The film even featured Garfield’sSpider-Manreferencing Gwen from his universe and Maguire’s version giving a nod to his long-time love interest Mary Jane Watson (played by Kirsten Dunst). This leaves plenty of room for Howard’s version of Gwen Stacy to make a reappearance.
Asthe Multiverse Saga continues, it will ultimately lead up to two bigAvengersfilms titledAvengers: The Kang DynastyandAvengers: Secret Wars, which will heavily be centered around the idea of the multiverse and exploring other universes and the characters who reside within them. Many fans believe that both Maguire and Garfield will return to reprise theirSpider-Manroles when the saga comes to its epic conclusion, but there’s always room for more to return as well. With Howard totally game to return and expressing her admiration for the current state of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s fair to speculate that Gwen Stacy could return to the big screen sometime very soon.
