It’s a special day forStar Warsfans all around the world, as May 4, more commonly known as Star Wars Day, is in full swing. Of course, it wouldn’t really be Star Wars Day if it weren’t for appreciation posts and fan art pouring out in honor of the series. However, companies are sharing their own appreciation for the franchise, including Bethesda with some awesomeDoomart.
Over on Twitter, the official Bethesda account showed off an interesting piece, puttingthe Doom Slayerin the role of Darth Vader as he stares down a few demons. The art seems to mirror the final scene ofStar Wars: Rogue One,in which Darth Vader cuts down a large group of Rebel soldiers as they attempt to hand off Death Star plans.

Hot off the success ofDoom Eternal,which released last year and has peppered out theAncient Gods DLCin the time since, the crossover art has garnered a positive reaction from fans. Some have called for Bethesda to make aStar Warsgame, while others have simply taken time to appreciate the artwork. All around, though, it seems to be delighting most of those that have commented on it.
Some fans seem to hope that a BethesdaStar Warsgame could really happen, largely due to EA losing the exclusivity license for the franchise’s games. The odds of that happening don’t seem incredibly high, largely due to the game’s the company already has in the pipeline, though that’s not likely going to stop fans from speculating any time soon.
So far, Star Wars Day has had some fruit for fans. Most notably,Disney is creating a working lightsaberthat can expand and contract. Unfortunately, it seems that the lightsaber won’t be available commercially – at least not yet. Instead, it’ll be used to lend more authenticity to the performers at Disney Land’s Galaxy’s Edge attraction.
There will likely be more artwork out there for fans to appreciate by the time the day is done.Star Warshas had a profound impact on the world, being one of the most popular properties ever created, so there’s certainly plenty for internet denizens to appreciate about it. Rumor has it that some big projects are in the works, too, like aremake of the ever-popularKnights of the Old Republicgame. It still isn’t clear if those rumors are true or not, but there are plenty of fans out there that would like it to be.
