Summary
Ryseup Studios’playable Roguelite game,Roboquest, released exclusively for Xbox and PC, stands as quite the action-packed futuristic game. As human scavengers work alongside guardian robots to restore humanity to stability and potential glory, shifting through the scattered army of badbots across various landscapes, the game offers a variety of NPCs, bosses, enemies, and classes for players to explore the different areas of this fictional world.
In the massive pursuit to restore humankind, essential tools go a long way for bothhumans and robots. Certain tools withinRoboquestdefy stereotypical abilities seen in action games, keeping robots' and humans' distinct needs in mind.

8Grappling Hook
Effects: +20 Damage, High Impact
With the use of 6 power crystals, players can acquire the grappling hook to pull towards any enemy or environment. Found in the secret entrance of the Bot cave, this gadget is handy for primarily humans. However, select robots such as Guardians or Rangers can also utilize this tool to scout more rundown areas.
Grappling hooks are standard in many action-adventure games, and inRoboquest, this gadget remains on the more simple end of devices. Still, it enhances the player’s movement and can be a complementary option to thegame’s weapons.

7Business Briefcase
Effects: +1 power cell level-up
In a tainted corner of the Ruins, the Wallstreet Slim (Business Bot) can offer players one power cell level up after 3–4 exchanges of the Business Briefcase. A seemingly random gadget, the business briefcase ranks as a lower-end tool that does little to secure safety for any bot or human. Using various exchanges doesn’t entice fans as much as compared to more useful and more easily fitted tools.
6Pogo Stick
Effects: Mega Jump
The pogo stick gadget is great for traversing larger terrains and reaching difficult areas in ruins. Using the crouch, the pogo stick does exactly as intended. Players must go to the Career zone of the Quarry region to reach a platform that holds a Lil Bot who holds the pogo stick. Interact with the small robot to acquire this nifty tool. Ultimately, this gadget does not greatly alterRoboquest’s mecha gameplayflow since it is quite situational, but the pogo stick can be very helpful in tight situations.
5Sunglasses
Effects: +30 Increase Damage, Decrease Health by 25%
Players must complete one level on any difficulty at least once to attain these gnarly-looking lenses. These power shades have a unique damage buff that protects the player from enemies and boss attacks at an increased 30%. However, the sunglasses also deal a heavy 25% blow to a foe’s barrage. This gadget makes the wearer more fashionable and discreet in certain scenarios and has more human-like qualities for robots to assimilate.
4Explorer Slippers
Effects: Reduces Acid Pools by 35%
Located in the safe area of the Canyons, the wholesome bunny-eared explorer slippers pack a major punch to save any bot or player from dicey situations or difficult elite enemies. The Canyons are an area full of data logs, useful for recon, engineering, and commando robots, but for NPCs, the explorer slippers are a life-saving gadget. For robots, this gadget saves materials and reduces critical damage.
3Metal Detector
Effects: Exposes Data Logs
Also found in the safe area of the Canyon region, the metal detector is crucial to any player finding necessary data logs. Data logs aid players in advancing to new levels and accessing valuable items and specific abilities. The Canyons are one of three other regions that hold the most data logs for aRoboquestplayerto discover. The metal detector may need the addition of a shovel to locate the item. Overall, the gadget is a worthy tool for gaining an easy advantage over other players.
2Jetpack
Effects: Speedy Activation
The jetpack gadget is the showgirl of all the gadgets for its sleek design, speedy essence, and great use for robots. At first glance, this can seem boring since thejetpack is a standard gadget that appears in many games, and it’s difficult for players to obtain it inRoboquest. They must travel to the Fusion Core checkpoint area and the Cinema Region of Haven City, utilizing data logs and the defeat of 4 mini-bosses to obtain the jetpack.
Consequently, an argument could be made that this gadget is not fully worth the effort it requires to unlock; however, once players have access to the jetpack, they will not want to live without it. It is not only very useful but also a lot of fun.

1Hero Cape
Effects: +20% damage to enemies, +200% damage increased with distance traveled
To earn the supreme Hero Cape, players must search for this gadget in the safe area of the Aqua Station region. It also requires the Powerful handgun accessory with a fire ability to obtain the cape from a block of ice. This gadget is ideal for boss battles on any level, regardless of class. The hero cape is set to put any player, NPC, or bot at in the most strategic and advanced position in combat.
With the extra 200% damage increase by an enemy’s distance traveled in action, it showcases a robust gadget tool that everyone wants to get their hands on. Go to the secret area to melt the ice and retrieve the hero’s cape from fellow character Alfred Beaureguard.
