Chibi figures are typically characterized by exaggeratedly large heads, short, stumpy limbs, and a general lack of detail. In the Western anime fan community, this term is used to describe characters who have abnormally large heads and small bodies for comedic effect. In these shows, many of the characters are drawn in a chibi style.

Those in chibi anime are cute, plump, and full of happiness. While chibi figures do make cameo appearances in some episodes of anime, they are more common in art or brief scenes meant to inject some lightheartedness.

7Isekai Quartet
KonoSuba,Overlord,Re:Zero:Starting Life in Another World,Saga of Tanya the Evil, andThe Rising of the Shield Heroall feature theIsekai Quartet’s principal characters in chibi form. The main characters are unintentionally sent to a parallel dimension when they accidentally click the button at the same time. Because they have no way out, the heroes must go through a standard school day and get to know the other students.
Still mysteriously stranded in the strange land with no way to return home, the group of colorful personalities is a mystery. Spending more time together does not sound all that bad, even so, since they are becoming really fond of one another.
6Kimi Ni Todoke 2nd Season Specials
In this romantic comedy, the characters inKimi ni Todokeare fascinating and engaging. The anime also included a surprising quantity of chibi characters, which were favorably received.
The specials are short, entertaining episodes that are told in a fairytale-like manner. Sawako and the team have chosen to retell well-known fairy tales with their own special twist. Cinderella and Snow White were the stories. Naturally, Kazehaya is the prince. But when Sawako was transformed into the witch, it became incredibly amusing. Sawako plays the antagonist, with Kurumi taking center stage as the protagonist.
5One Piece: Straw Hat Theater
There are five distinct segments ofStraw Hat Theaterthat together form the full chibi experience. This chibi anime was conceived after Eiichiro Oda was given free rein by his editor to sketch whatever he liked on blank sheets of paper, resulting in this stage short.
Throughout this five-part comedy, viewers keep up withthe Straw Hats. InStraw Hat Theater, the well-knownOne Piececharacters are referred to by their alternate names, much to the amusement of fans. In typical chibi fashion, the Straw Hats deal with a wide range of topics, from power struggles to who on the crew is the strongest.
4Sword Art Online: Sword Art Offline
Only the physical DVD releases of the first anime season had these quick, 10–12-minute episodes, which were designed in a cute chibi style. The hosts of the program areAsuna and Kirito, and Klein is a special guest.
