Telltale is seemingly back on schedule with Episode 3 of theBatman - The Telltale Series, as the mid-season chapter just a bit over a month since the launch of Episode 2. Titled “New World Order,“Episode 3 ofBatmanwill launch on most major platforms on October 25, while mobile platforms and the Xbox 360 will have to wait a bit longer. With just a day left before the episode’s launch, Telltale has released an all new trailer teasing what Batman will be up against next - but beware of spoilers!
As is typical for Telltale Games prior to the launch of a new episode, the studio has provided a short description ofBatmanEpisode 3 in addition to thenew trailer. For those who have yet to complete Episode 2 ofBatman - The Telltale Seriesor for those who plan on playing the full season ofBatmanonly once its completed, please stop here! There’s nothing but spoilers from here on, including for Episode 3. This is just for those who can’t wait to find out what happens next.
“In Episode 3, Penguin’s brutal attack broadcast on live TV has left Gotham City reeling. As Bruce and Batman, you’ll dig deeper into the web of intrigue surrounding the newly revealed Children of Arkham. Meanwhile, behind closed doors, the mysterious Selina Kyle reveals more of herself to Bruce. And in the aftermath of the attack, Bruce’s friend and Gotham’s new mayor, Harvey Dent, is a deeply changed man. Who can be trusted when the future of Bruce Wayne - and the Batman - could be determined by the flip of a coin?”
The implications of those words, “by the flip of a coin,” should be familiar to anyBatmanfan. Episode 3, coming off the events of Episode 2, will see the birth of a new villain.

With Episode 3, it seems like Telltale is working to build the dichotomy between Bruce Wayne and Batman. Batman has his masked villains, whileBruce Wayne will have his opponentsas well. It’s not often that we get to see Bruce Wayne losing his composure, but him being removed by those armed guards after being removed as CEO looks particularly intriguing. Meanwhile, the trio of Penguin, the Children of Arkham and now Harvey Dent definitely implies an escalation of conflict for Gotham and Batman.
Hopefully Telltale will be able to keep up this pace of episode releases going intoBatman’s concluding two episodes. Almost two months passed betweenepisodes one and two, but there was only just a month between therelease of episodes two and three. At this rate, it’s possibleBatmancould be concluded in late November or early December. Not only wouldBatmanfans be pleased about that, but it would also free up Telltale’s schedule to launch the startThe Walking Dead’s third seasonrelatively soon.
Batman - The Telltale Series' third episode, New World Order, is scheduled for release on October 25 for the PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. European PS4 and PS3 players, however, will have to wait until October 27 for the game to become available.
