Summary

OneAssassin’s Creed Unityplayer shared a unique animation they found after 150 hours of playing the game. It was clear leading up to the game’s release that it was the most ambitious game in the series to date, between the dense NPC population and the sheer detail of the open-world players can explore. Despite the various issues plaguing the game at launch, recent years have seen a new appreciation surface among somelongtimeAssassin’s Creedplayersfor Ubisoft’s take on the French Revolution and the attention to detail the newly-seen animation shows.

Assassin’s Creed Unitywas originally released in 2014 and dropped players into the heart of Paris during the French Revolution, witnessing first-hand the end of the French monarchy and the beginning of Napoleon Bonaparte’s rise. At the heart of the game’s story is Arno Dorian, a French aristocrat who finds his way into the Assassins after discovering his familial ties to the order during his quest to avenge the deaths of his father and, later, adopted father. Dorian’s adventure also sees him cross paths with historical figures such as Napoleon, the Marquis de Sade, and Maximilien Robespierre as the revolution begins to take hold.

One of the selling points of the game heading into its release was the sheer size of crowds across the city, giving players plenty of options to blend in and avoid detection. Like previous games, many of the blend animations were generic actions such as conversing with others or sitting on a bench, while a more unique one may occasionally pop up in the right circumstances. Reddit user M4TTHEW35 discovered one of these unique animations while simplyexploring Paris inUnitywhich sees Dorian help a bystander hold up a carriage while another tries to fix one of the wheels.

M4TTHEW35’s surprise at the discovery was echoed by several users in the thread, saying they hadn’t seen any animation like the cart blend inUnityor any otherAssassin’s Creedgames. Others shared similar experiences uncovering different blend-in animations seemingly on accident, with one saying they found one they referred to as a “market stall” along with a special animation they already knew about near theCafe Theater inUnity.

The clip is another example of the newfound love among some of theAssassin’s Creedcommunity for the ambitious, if flawed, game. This renewed appreciation has been such thatmods forUnityhave been released, allowing the game to reach the heights it didn’t at launch due to its various technical problems.

Assassin’s Creed Unityis currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
