AnApex Legendsplayer posted a video showing them pulling off a clean triple kill at an enemy Revenant’s Death Totem. The player found the Death Totem inApex Legendsand ambushed the enemy squad, killing all of them.
Revenant was added toApex Legendsin Season 4, and is a stealth and damage-focused character that excels at ambushing enemy squads.Revenant’s ultimate abilityDeath Totem is very useful for this. Since it allows allies to respawn once at the totem, players can use it to do aggressive attacks on an enemy squad without having to worry about getting downed and wiped out if the attack goes sideways. The downside to the ultimate ability, however, is that the players will respawn at the totem’s location, and the totem is pretty noticeable and difficult to hide. This allows for enemies to find the totem and ambush players as they respawn.

That sort of ambush is exactly what happened in the video that MaineSellWhite posted to theApex Legendssubreddit. Playing asextremely mobileApex Legendscharacter Pathfinder, MaineSellWhite noticed the orange pulse and sound signaling that a Revenant Death Totem had been placed, and immediately began searching for it. They noticed a shadowy enemy sprinting out of a building, so they looped around behind it and found the Death Totem out in the open behind that building. With the totem located, MaineSellWhite closed in and aimed down their sights, waiting for enemies to respawn. The first enemy respawned and quickly got taken out with MaineSellWhite’s G7 rifle, then the second one appeared and met the same fate. The last one respawned and MaineSellWhite switched to their Mastiff shotgun and killed the last enemy with two quick shots.
This is the kind of play that makes for a fantastic gameplay clip and really highlights the player’s map awareness and game sense. It also shows that Revenant’s ultimate might need a little adjusting. After a brutal meta involving Revenant and Octane’s ultimate abilities to make aggressive plays with a lot of safety, the very noticeable orange pulse and sound was added to make the Death Totem easier to play around. Unfortunately for Revenant players, this has made the totem much easier to find as well, and has led to someplayers proposing a buff to Revenant’s ultimate.
While MaineSellWhite’s video does highlight the weakness of the Death Totem, the comments on the post seem to indicate that most mishaps involving the ultimate come from Revenant players accidentally destroying their own totem upon respawning from it. A buff for Revenant might be incoming though, since there could bemajor reworks for legends coming in Season 16, and Revenant is potentially on that list.
